What is a reading?

A reading is a consultation session with a psychically sensitive person who reads the energy around the client. No matter what type of reading you get, it is a "snapshot in time". This means that if you get another reading a month later, it will be different.

Why get a reading?

No matter how much attention we give to personal growth, from time to time we get stuck. A reading is a great way to get a sense of why you are stuck and what you can do to change it. Sometimes a reading will identify the path you are currently on; and once identified and brought to consciousness, the path can be changed. Psychics often are challenged by clients who come back and say "you were wrong!" the event you predicted never came to pass. This is music to a psychic's ears as the client has made a choice to change their future.

Palm Readings

Palm readings are done by analyzing the shape, structure and the lines of the hand and fingers. Maggy Davidson has been reading palms since she was eleven years old - a technique learned from a neighbour and then studied from books such as "Cheiro's Language of the Palm" which was published in 1910. Many books are available now and like most modalities, many books are required to form an overall picture. Palm reading when done responsibly will look for at least two confirmations of an event (e.g. duration of life) before anything is said or shared.

Palmistry also relates to astrology and numerology.

Of interest is that since Maggy began reading palms, she has noticed that the "average" life span shown in palms used to be 60 to 70 years and is now more like 90 to 120 years.

Psychic Readings

Psychic readings are done by psychically reading the client's energy. Some will say they "channel" or work as a "medium" - really it's all about reading energy. Everyone can do it, and children are especially psychic. Sadly most of us are "shut down" in our early years, believing that if we see it, we create it. This is a Cassandra Complex. Cassandra was an oracle and the (twin) sister of Paris who captured the love of Helen of Troy whose (previous) husband wanted the city and his wife back. In those times, people believed that if Cassandra envisioned an event, she was making it happen. It was ever thus for those who are psychic. Feared, burned as witches, silenced however possible, and yet humans have these gifts due to divine connection and are granted the ability in order to help ourselves.

Everyone is psychic whether it is clairvoyant (seeing), clairaudient (hearing), claircognizant (knowing), clairsentient (feeling), or clairsniffient (smelling). We all have information coming in, we need to learn how to interpret it.

Tarrot Readings

No one knows for certain the origins of the tarot decks, we do know the tarot decks are the forerunners of our modern playing cards. A "traditional" tarot deck has 78 cards, 56 suited or minor arcane cards, like our 52 playing cards plus a "child" or "page" in each suit. There are also 22 major arcana cards which represent the greater lessons or challenges/changes in life. A traditional tarot deck has links to numerology and astrology, which also links to palmistry.

Tarot readings are done by interpreting the symbols on a spread of cards in combination with psychically reading the client's energy. Many different card decks are available, as many readers and artists work to create their own "spin" on divination decks. The type of deck used is often determined by the client's comfort level in having a reading.

Numerology

For those who are not great fans of math, much of our world relates to numbers, including sacred geometry and fibonocci theory.

Often a psychic will use numerology in a reading first as an ice breaker to put the client at ease and second to determine where the client is at this moment in time. The destiny or birth path number will indicate the type of person we are, the astrological traits we prominently display (based on planet placement in the chart and not on a sun sign) and what we may be best suited for in life. The next relevant number is our practical number. The practical number tells where in the current nine year cycle the client is facing opportunities and challenges. We live our lives in cycles of nine years.
